What is load curve?
According to the set time interval of power parameters (voltage, current, active power, reactive power, active power, reactive power, power factor) for rolling data recording function is the load curve recording function; it shows the law of load change with time. The interval time of load recording can be set in the range of 1min～60min, and the default interval time is 15min; the interval time of each type of load recording can be the same or different. The storage space of load record of three-phase meter should ensure at least 40 days of data volume for recording the total active energy, total reactive energy and four quadrant reactive energy in forward and reverse directions with the interval time of 1min; the storage space of load record of single-phase meter should ensure at least 3 days of data volume for recording the total active energy, voltage, current, frequency, active power and power factor with the interval time of 15min.
What does the load curve do?
The minute load curve, hourly load curve, daily load curve, monthly load curve, and annual load curve can be used to analyze how much electricity is consumed and how it is used by customers, which is the main basis for determining the operation of the power system and each power plant and for making production plans. To put it bluntly, it is the time when the power plant puts in more generating units to generate more electricity to meet the customer's power demand and control the operating cost. Load curves are the best way to show how electricity is being used and play an important role in long-term planning and daily production scheduling for power systems. For residential customers, long-term load curves can be used to understand the household's electricity consumption and habits.
